Molding Principle Of Plastic Extruders

May. 06, 2019

The extrusion method of a plastic extruder generally refers to melting a plastic at a high temperature of about 200 degrees, and the molten plastic forms a desired shape when it passes through the mold. Extrusion molding requires a deep understanding of plastic properties and extensive experience in mold design, and is a highly technically demanding molding method.

Extrusion molding is a method in which a material is continuously passed through a die by a heating and pressurization in an extruder, which is also referred to as "extrusion". Compared with other molding methods, it has the advantages of high efficiency and low unit cost.

Extrusion is mainly used for the molding of thermoplastics and for some thermosets. Extrusion products are continuous profiles such as tubes, rods, wires, sheets, films, wire and cable coatings, and the like. In addition, it can also be used for mixing, plasticizing, granulating, coloring, blending, etc. of plastics.

Extrusion products can be referred to as "profiles" and are also referred to as "profiles" because they are mostly irregular in cross-sectional shape.
