Classification of Plastic Extruders

Plastic extruders can be divided into single-screw extruders, twin-screw extruders and multi-screw extruders according to the number of screw. At present, single screw extruder is the most widely used and suitable for extrusion processing of general materials. Twin-screw extruder has less heat generated by friction, more uniform shear of materials, larger screw conveying capacity, more stable extrusion volume, long residence time of materials in the barrel, and even mixing.

Single-screw extruders play an important role both as plasticizing granulation machines and forming processing machines. In recent years, single-screw extruders have developed greatly.

The twin-screw extruder has good feeding characteristics, is suitable for powder processing, and has better mixing, exhausting, reaction and self-cleaning functions than single-screw extruder. It is characterized by poor thermal stability and processing of plastics and blends. It also shows its superiority. On the basis of the twin-screw extruder, in order to make it easier to process blends with poor thermal stability, multi-screw extruders such as Guanghua plastic extruders have been developed.

1. According to the number of screw, it can be divided into single screw extruder, twin screw extruder and multi-screw extruder.

2. According to the existence of screw in extruder, it can be divided into screw extruder and plunger extruder.

3. According to the operating speed of the screw: Ordinary extruder: speed below 100r/min; High speed extruder: speed is 100~300r/min; Ultra high speed extruder: speed is 300~l500r/min.

4. According to the assembly structure of extruders, there are integral extruders and separate extruders.

5. According to the position of the screw in the extruder, it can be divided into horizontal extruder and vertical extruder.

6. According to whether the extruder is exhausted during processing, it can be divided into vented extruder and non-vented extruder.
